PRIVACY POLICY FOR PATIENTS
When you are examined, assessed or treated by us, we collect and process a number of personal data about you. Here we explain what information we process, why we do it and how it may be shared.
WHAT INFORMATION WE PROCESS
We process both general and sensitive personal data - depending on what is relevant to your process.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Name, address, contact details, social security number, gender, family and social relationships, employment and education.
SENSITIVE INFORMATION:
Health information (medical records, test results, scans, etc.), sexual conditions, ethnic background and any religious information.
WHY WE PROCESS YOUR DATA
We use your information in order to:
- Examine, diagnose and treat you
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals and hospitals
- Manage medication orders and prescriptions
- Issue declarations and certificates Report information to laboratories, quality databases and relevant authorities
- Settle services with the region
- Comply with our legal obligations, such as record keeping and data security
- Handling enquiries, complaints, supervision and any disputes
- Contribute to statistics and research when it is legal
VOLUNTEERING
Providing us with information is voluntary - but without it we cannot investigate, treat or advise you properly.
WHERE WE GET INFORMATION FROM
Where we get information from We collect information directly from you and - when relevant - from other healthcare professionals, such as hospitals or your own doctor.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
We only disclose information when it is necessary and lawful. For example, this can be for:
- Other healthcare professionals in connection with your treatment programme
- Hospital laboratories, clinical quality databases and authorities
- The region's settlement office
- Pharmacies and the Danish Medicines Agency via the prescription server
- Referring doctor and in some cases hospital in discharge summaries
- Insurance companies and relatives - only with your consent
LEGAL BASIS
Legal basis Our processing is primarily based on:
- General Data Protection Regulation (Articles 6 and 9)
- Health Act
- Authorisation Act
- The Executive Order on Record Keeping
- Agreement on specialised medical care
- Prescription and lab rules
When processing or disclosure requires consent, you can withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect processing that has already been carried out.
DATA PROCESSORS
Your data is stored with our data processor, who works according to our instructions:

STORAGE
We keep your data for as long as necessary for your treatment and for at least 10 years after the last medical record. In special cases, such as complaints or compensation cases, data may be stored for longer.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
- Insight into your information
- Get incorrect information corrected
- In certain cases, get data deleted
- Limit the treatment
- Data portability
- Object to processing
- Complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency
